CF Montreal announced the signing of forward Prince Owusu to a two-year contract on Monday.
The deal includes an option year for 2027 for the 28-year-old German international.
Montreal traded up to $250,000 in general allocation money to Toronto FC to obtain the right of first refusal.
Owusu scored nine goals in 37 MLS matches (23 starts) with Toronto during the 2023-24 seasons.
“We are very excited to welcome Prince to the Club,” said CF Montreal president and CEO Gabriel Gervais. “With his addition, we are strengthening our squad with a powerful striker, recognized for his physical attributes, ability to protect the ball, willingness to press defenders, and consistent offensive production. Prince brings a wealth of leadership and experience gained in Europe and MLS.”
Toronto will receive $100,000 in GAM in 2025 and $75,000 in 2026, plus $75,000 in conditional GAM.
