Oct 29 (Field Level Media) – Dallas defenseman Kyle Capobianco will miss four weeks because of a lower-body injury, Stars ‌coach Glen Gulutzan said Thursday.

Capobianco, 29, was injured in a collision behind the net with New Jersey’s Timo Meier in ‌the third period of the Devils’ 5-1 road victory Tuesday.

“‘Capo’ will be out for a little bit here,” Gulutzan said ahead of the home game Thursday against the Montreal Canadiens. “A significant chunk of time. … I don’t know right now, but I would say probably we’re at the four-week point today.”

In a corresponding move, Dallas recalled defenseman Trey Taylor ‌from AHL affiliate Texas. Taylor would be making his NHL debut.

Capobianco has no points, four penalty minutes, three blocks and two hits in five games this season.

For his career, he has 17 points (seven goals, ‌10 assists), 64 penalty minutes, 97 blocks and 90 hits ‌in 112 regular-season games with the Arizona Coyotes (2017-22), Winnipeg Jets (2022-23) and Stars (2024-present).

Dallas also said forward Sam Steel will play against the Canadiens after missing two games due to an undisclosed injury.
