Oct 25 (Field Level Media) – Heavy rain and high winds forced the postponement ‌of play on Sunday at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship.

Wind gusts topped 40 mph on Sunday ‌morning at Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton.

“With no improvement to the current weather conditions and anticipated further deterioration, there will be no play today,” the PGA Tour wrote in a statement.

The weather isn’t expected to be much better on Monday, prompting officials ‌to announce that a decision on the remainder of the tournament will come no later than 4 p.m. ET time on Sunday.

Austin Smotherman, who captured ‌his first PGA Tour title earlier this ‌month at the Bank of Utah Championship, and Seamus Power of Ireland are tied for the lead at 16-under-par 197 after three rounds.
