Oct 17 (Field Level Media) – Seattle Reign FC placed forward Maddie Dahlien on the season-ending injury list Saturday after she suffered an ACL tear while training ‌with the United States’ under-23 women’s national team.

Dahlien, 22, has three goals and four assists in 25 appearances for Seattle this season. The assists tie her for the team ‌lead. She was one of three finalists for NWSL Rookie of the Year in 2025.

“We’re heartbroken for Maddie, and our priority is making sure she has the support and resources she needs throughout her recovery,” Seattle general manager Lesle Gallimore said in a news release. “She has made a tremendous impact on this club in just two seasons, and her competitive drive, determination and work ethic are evident in everything she does. We’re confident she’ll approach this ‌challenge with that same mentality and come back stronger.”

Dahlien was a member of North Carolina’s 2024 national championship team in college and quickly excelled with Seattle. She had four goals and four assists in 2025.

Dahlien made three appearances with the U.S. women’s national team earlier this ‌year. She earned her first cap in January against Paraguay.

During this month’s under-23 ‌training camp, Dahlien started in a 5-0 victory over the Dominican Republic on Oct. 9 in Fayetteville, Ga. Four days later, she entered in the 58th minute and left 16 minutes later as the U.S. beat the Dominican Republic 6-2, also in Fayetteville.
