LONDON, Oct 16 (Reuters) – Investors dumped cash and poured money into both bonds and stocks last week, according to BofA Global Research, as traders sought to profit from the ‌recent volatility.

• Stock funds saw $64.5 billion of inflows in the week to Wednesday, BofA said, in its weekly round-up of flows in and out of world markets, based on ‌EPFR data.

• Tech stocks saw $10.7 billion of inflows, and have logged a record $196 billion in inflows year-to-date. US stocks saw $39.1 billion of inflows in the week and a record $636 billion year-to-date.

• Tech stocks have had a volatile few sessions, and the Nasdaq fell 1.8% on Thursday. The same day, government bonds rallied dramatically, and the 10-year Treasury yield fell 10 basis points, albeit after a steady selloff in recent months.

• Bonds saw inflows of $11.8 billion in the latest ‌week. Treasuries saw $3.6 billion in inflows, their 16th weekly inflow, the longest streak since August 2024. US Treasuries are “screaming good value” after their selloff, a PIMCO senior advisor said last week.

• Money market funds, referred to as cash, saw outflows of $53.1 billion.

• Emerging markets saw inflows ‌of $17.7 billion, with $8.6 billion to China.

• Brazil has seen a record $4.7 billion of inflows ‌in the past two weeks. Right-wing Brazilian Senator Flavio Bolsonaro exceeded expectations in the first-round of voting in the country’s presidential election earlier this month, and will face leftist President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in a runoff.
