Oct 13 (Reuters) – Insured losses to onshore property from Hurricane Isaias is expected to be between $1 billion and $2 billion, data analytics firm Verisk said on Tuesday.
Hurricane Isaias made landfall near Destin, Florida, last week, and left hundreds of thousands of residents without power. At least four people were reported dead on Saturday.
The estimate includes losses from wind and privately insured storm surge. Wind is expected to make up the majority of the insured losses.
A category 2 hurricane when it hit Florida’s coast and the first of the 2026 Atlantic season, Isaias generated the most severe wind damage in areas such as Florida’s Santa Rosa and northeastern Escambia counties.
