Oct 08 (Field Level Media) – The PWHL unveiled the jerseys for its four expansion teams in Detroit, Las Vegas, San Jose, Calif., and Hamilton, Ontario, on Thursday.
Produced by official partner Bauer, the jerseys feature each city’s name stitched diagonally across the chest. It’s the same style worn by the league’s first eight teams during their inaugural campaigns.
“Detroit, Hamilton, Las Vegas, and San Jose are each building their own connection with their communities, and these jerseys give fans another way to show their pride while carrying forward a PWHL tradition of putting the city name front and center in a team’s inaugural season,” said Amy Scheer, PWHL executive vice president of business operations.
Detroit’s automotive industry-inspired black-and-silver jersey has white and red accents. The desert-inspired look for Las Vegas features green, gold and navy. San Jose’s colors are mandarin orange, sky blue and white. Hamilton’s jersey mixes burnt orange and maroon in a nod to the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger- Cats.
Team names and logos for the newcomers will be announced at a later date.
The expanded 12-team PWHL, featuring new six-team Eastern and Western Conferences, begins its fourth season on Dec. 5.
