Sep 27 (Field Level Media) – Seattle Mariners rookie left-hander Kade Anderson left Saturday’s game in the fourth inning after taking a line drive from the Los Angeles Angels’ Christian Moore off his pitching arm.
Moore hit a liner that appeared to catch Anderson just above his left elbow. Anderson, 22, hopped off the mound in pain as the ball trickled toward first base, with Moore reaching on an infield single.
Anderson tried to wave away the Mariners’ training staff, but they quickly attended to him and manager Dan Wilson didn’t hesitate in calling in Michael Rucker to protect the franchise’s prized pitching prospect.
Anderson pitched 3 1/3 scoreless innings, giving up four hits. He walked one and struck out four.
He entered the day with a 2-2 record, 3.79 ERA, eight walks and 28 strikeouts in 32 1/3 innings over six starts.
The host Mariners were leading 2-0 in the fifth inning.
Seattle selected Anderson third overall in the 2025 MLB Draft out of LSU.
