Sept 22 (Reuters) – The International Monetary Fund is moving toward reducing the number of economic health checks it performs for certain countries as part of a broader efficiency push by the lender, Bloomberg News reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.
There is no formal list of countries that will be subject to the less frequent Article IV discussions, the report said, adding decisions are instead expected to be made on a case-by-case basis and countries can also request fewer consultations, the report said.
