Aug 31 (Reuters) – Teladoc Health said on Monday it appointed Michael Grasher as its chief financial officer, bringing in an industry veteran to help the virtual healthcare company navigate rising demand for its insurance-covered business.

• The appointment comes about a month after Teladoc cut its annual revenue forecast and flagged challenges at its mental health services unit BetterHelp, where growing demand for insurance-covered therapy has outpaced the company’s available provider capacity.
• “We view the appointment positively and see it as an important step in solidifying TDOC’s leadership team following the departure of former CFO Mala Murthy in November 2025,” said Evercore ISI analyst Elizabeth Anderson.
• Grasher has more than 30 years of experience in insurance and financial services and has held CFO roles for more than 12 years.
• He most recently served as CFO of IFG Companies, a privately held property-casualty insurance organization.
• Anderson added Grasher’s extensive insurance background would be favorable given Teladoc’s ongoing push to scale insurance-covered services within BetterHelp, although his experience is primarily in property and casualty and specialty insurance rather than health insurance.
• He has also served as a CFO and executive vice president at specialty insurer Fortegra, managing financial oversight across its U.S. and European businesses.
• Prior to his CFO roles, he spent more than a decade as an equity research analyst, including as a managing director at Piper Jaffray, now known as Piper Sandler.
