JBS names Wesley Batista Filho as new CEO

SAO PAULO, Aug 10 (Reuters) – Brazil’s JBS, the world’s largest meatpacker, ​announced Wesley Batista ‌Filho as its new chief executive officer on Monday.

Batista Filho, a member of the ‌founding ​family and ⁠the current head ⁠of JBS’ main unit JBS USA, will replace Gilberto Tomazoni, who ​has been in the role since 2018, ⁠the company ⁠said in a securities ​filing.

Tomazoni will become the ​vice chairman of the board ‌of directors and a senior adviser to the firm.

Batista Filho is ⁠the son of Wesley Batista, a former JBS CEO who ⁠controls ‌together with his ⁠brother Joesley Batista ​the ‌J&F conglomerate, which ​the meatpacking ⁠company is a part of.
