Blue Jays recall RHP Simeon Woods Richardson amid multiple moves

The Toronto Blue Jays returned both rookie infielder Charles McAdoo and veteran right-hander Simeon Woods Richardson to the ​major league roster amid a series ‌of moves Monday.

To make room on the active roster, right-hander Lazaro Estrada and utility man Davis Schneider were optioned to Triple-A Buffalo, while catcher ‌Willie ​MacIver was designated for ⁠assignment.

Woods Richardson, 25, went ⁠0-7 with a 7.74 ERA in 12 appearances (10 starts) for the Minnesota Twins this season before he was designated for ​assignment and traded to the Blue Jays on June 3. In three relief ⁠appearances for Toronto following ⁠the trade, he went 1-0 and ​did not allow a run over 10 ​innings.

In five major league seasons, mostly with ‌the Twins, Woods Richardson is 13-17 with a 4.61 ERA in 68 appearances (61 starts).

McAdoo, 24, made his major league debut May ⁠29 and bated .160 with a home run and three RBIs over eight games.

Estrada, 27, was 1-1 ⁠with a ‌4.50 ERA in seven relief ⁠appearances for the Blue Jays this ​season, ‌while Schneider, 27, was batting .142 ​with three ⁠home runs and 12 RBIs in 61 games.

MacIver, 29, made his major league debut last season with the Athletics and was at Buffalo before he was designated for assignment.
