The Toronto Blue Jays placed rookie right-hander Trey Yesavage on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with left knee inflammation.

Yesavage left Tuesday night’s ‌start against the host Houston Astros in the bottom of the third inning after experiencing discomfort. He was scheduled to undergo an ‌MRI on Wednesday.

Yesavage, 23, is 5-5 with a 3.65 ERA through 18 starts this season, striking out 91 batters in 93 2/3 innings. He missed the first month of the season due to an impingement in his right shoulder but had not missed a turn in the rotation since making his season debut on April 28.

Toronto selected Yesavage in the first ‌round (20th overall) of the 2024 MLB Draft out of East Carolina.

He went 1-0 with a 3.21 ERA in three regular-season games in 2025, then went 3-1 with a 3.58 ERA in six games (five starts) as the ‌Blue Jays won the American League Championship Series and fell in ‌seven games to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series.

In other transactions on Wednesday, Toronto recalled Lazaro Estrada and Chase Lee from Triple-A Buffalo and optioned fellow right-hander Chad Dallas to Buffalo.
