Cavaliers G Donovan Mitchell signs $273M max extension

All-NBA star guard Donovan Mitchell has agreed on a four-year, $273 million ​maximum contract extension ‌with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Mitchell’s representation, Creative Artists Agency (CAA), confirmed the details Tuesday morning ‌with ​ESPN. The ⁠deal also includes ⁠a player option for the 2030-31 season and a full trade kicker.

This ​marks the second extension for Mitchell since ⁠he arrived ⁠in Cleveland in 2022.

Mitchell, ​29, averaged 27.9 points, ​5.7 assists and 4.5 rebounds ‌in 70 games (all starts) in 2025-26. He was named to the ⁠All-Star Game for the seventh straight season — including all four ⁠years ‌with Cleveland.

An All-NBA ⁠selection on three ​occasions, ‌Mitchell has contributed 25.1 ​points, 4.8 ⁠assists and 4.3 rebounds in 609 career games (601 starts) with the Utah Jazz (2017-22) and Cavaliers.
