Report: Javonte Green back with Pistons on 1-year contract

Forward Javonte Green is returning to the Detroit Pistons on a one-year, $3.95 ​million contract, ESPN reported ‌Friday. He was a free agent.

Green, who turns 33 this month, appeared in all 82 ‌games (six ​starts) for ⁠the Pistons in ⁠the 2025-26 season, averaging 6.9 points and 2.8 rebounds in 17.6 minutes per game. ​He shot a career-high 38.1% from 3-point territory.

Green ⁠took the long ⁠route to arrive ​in Detroit before this past ​season.

After four college seasons at ‌Radford, Green played in Europe (2015-19) before signing as a free agent with the ⁠Boston Celtics prior to the 2019-20 season. He has been well-traveled since, ⁠appearing ‌in 345 total ⁠games with the Celtics, ​Chicago ‌Bulls, New Orleans ​Pelicans, Cleveland ⁠Cavaliers and Pistons. He has career averages of 5.7 points and 3.0 rebounds over 17.0 minutes per game.
