Mets return RHP Christian Scott (hip) from injured list

The New York Mets activated right-hander Christian Scott from the ​15-day injured list ‌in advance of his start against the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday.

Scott, 27, ‌has ​not pitched ⁠since June 11 ⁠because of a right hip impingement.

The Mets opened a roster spot ​when left-hander Zach Thornton was optioned ⁠to Triple-A ⁠Syracuse late Friday.

In ​nine starts this season, ​Scott is 2-0 with a ‌3.10 ERA after he went 0-3 with a 4.56 ERA ⁠in nine starts as a rookie in 2024. He ⁠missed ‌all of 2025 ⁠following Tommy John ​surgery.

Thornton, ‌24, made his ​major league ⁠debut on May 20 and was 0-1 with a 4.35 ERA in two starts.
