Alejandro Davidovich Fokina wins 1st title at Mallorca

Alejandro Davidovich Fokina claimed his first ATP Tour ​title with ‌a 7-6 (4), 6-3 victory against Ethan Quinn on Saturday at ‌the ​Mallorca ⁠Championships.

The second-seeded Spaniard ⁠became the first home champion in the grass-court tournament’s ​six-year history. It was the ⁠27-year-old Davidovich ⁠Fokina’s sixth ​appearance in a tour-level ​final.

Davidovich Fokina ended the ‌1-hour, 44-minute match with his sixth ace ⁠against the unseeded American. He saved three of ⁠four ‌break points ⁠and took advantage ​of ‌seven double faults ​by ⁠Quinn, who was denied in his bid for his maiden title.
