ISLAMABAD, June 3 (Reuters) – Pakistan’s federal budget is not likely to be presented on June 5, a government source and local ‌media said on Wednesday, mainly as some fiscal measures have not been settled with the International Monetary Fund.

The budget might ‌be presented on June 10, the source and Geo News TV said.

The government source sought anonymity because he was not authorised to disclose the information.

The June 5 parliamentary session will proceed as scheduled, providing a platform for both the government and the opposition to debate the budget, the source said.

The government has not given any reason ‌yet for the delay.

The source said there were still issues to be settled with the IMF on creating fiscal space, especially some funds to be relinquished by the provinces for federal spending.

Pakistan’s ‌finance ministry did not immediately respond to a request for ‌a comment.

The country is on a $7 billion IMF bailout program, which has helped the economy stabilise and recover.
