Wall St muted as investors asses inflation data, Mideast peace prospects

May 28 (Reuters) – Wall Street’s main indexes opened ​flat on ‌Thursday as investors processed key inflation data, while intensifying ‌tensions ​between ⁠the U.S. ⁠and Iran kept optimism surrounding a peace deal in ​check.

The Dow Jones Industrial ⁠Average ⁠rose 16.7 points, ​or 0.03%, at ​the open to ‌50,660.98. The S&P 500 fell 0.5 points, ⁠or 0.01%, at the open to 7,519.82, ⁠while ‌the Nasdaq ⁠Composite rose ​11.8 ‌points, or 0.04%, ​to 26,686.53 ⁠at the opening bell.
