Report: 49ers revise QB Mac Jones’ 2026 contract

The San Francisco 49ers and backup quarterback Mac Jones agreed to a revised contract ​for the 2026 season, NFL ‌Network reported Wednesday.

The updated deal includes a $300,000 roster bonus, a $3.55 million base salary and another $2.25 million available in ‌incentives, ​per the report.

Jones, ⁠27, who made eight ⁠starts (5-3 record) for an injured Brock Purdy last season, is due to become a free agent ​next March.

Jones completed a career-high 69.6% of his passes ⁠for 2,151 yards ⁠with 13 touchdowns and six ​interceptions across 11 games last season, ​his first with San Francisco.

A ‌first-round pick (15th overall) and a Pro Bowl selection with New England in 2021, Jones is 25-32 ⁠as a starter with the Patriots (2021-23), Jacksonville Jaguars (2024) and 49ers. He has completed ⁠66.5% of ‌his passes for 12,741 ⁠yards with 67 TDs ​and ‌50 picks in 63 ​games.

Purdy, 26, ⁠missed eight games last season with a turf-toe injury. The 49ers also have quarterbacks Adrian Martinez and Kurtis Rourke on the roster.
