The Los Angeles Rams signed quarterback Matthew Stafford to a one-year extension on Thursday, according to ‌multiple reports.

The Rams now have the NFL’s reigning Most Valuable Player under contract through the 2027 ‌season. The 38-year-old’s new deal is reportedly worth $55 million and can increase to as much as $60 million with incentives.

The move answers the questions about Stafford’s future with the Rams that spawned after the team used the No. 13 overall pick in last month’s NFL draft on ‌Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson.

Stafford led the Rams to a Super Bowl victory in 2021. Last season, the 17-year pro delivered a career-high 46 touchdown passes along ‌with 4,707 passing yards. Both totals led the league.

The ‌Rams finished with a 12-5 record in the 2025-26 season, losing to the eventual Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks in the NFC championship game.
