Kentucky, Gonzaga agree to end hoops series early

Scheduled to face off for two more seasons, ​perennial basketball ‌powers Kentucky and Gonzaga on Wednesday announced an agreement to ‌end ​their series ⁠early.

In a ⁠joint statement, the schools said the decision was made “to allow ​each program freedom to ⁠re-evaluate future ⁠scheduling priorities, including ​conference obligations and ​nonconference opportunities.”

The Wildcats were ‌to host the Bulldogs in the 2026-27 season, ⁠with Gonzaga scheduled to host Kentucky the following ⁠season.

Over ‌the last ⁠four seasons, Gonzaga ​posted ‌a 3-1 ​record in ⁠the series, including a 94-59 victory Dec. 5 in Nashville, Tenn.
