French inflation confirmed at 2.5% in April, highest since July 2024

May 13 (Reuters) – EU-harmonised consumer prices in France ​rose ‌2.5% year-on-year in April, statistics office INSEE said ‌on ​Wednesday, ⁠confirming a preliminary ⁠reading published late last month and marking ​the highest rate since ⁠July ⁠2024.

The EU-harmonised inflation ​rate in the ​bloc’s second biggest ‌economy accelerated in April, compared with ⁠the March reading of 2.0%. On a ⁠month-on-month ‌basis, EU-harmonised ⁠prices rose ​1.2%, ‌also confirming ​the preliminary ⁠reading.
