Braves activate SS Ha-Seong Kim, put OF Eli White on concussion IL

Atlanta Braves shortstop Ha-Seong Kim is set to make his season debut after he was activated off ​the injured list Monday, while ‌outfielder Eli White was placed on the seven-day concussion IL.

Kim, 30, has been on the mend from surgery in the offseason to ‌repair ​a torn tendon in ⁠his right middle ⁠finger. He batted .286 with a .412 on-base percentage in nine minor league rehab games.

In five major league seasons, including his ​first four with the San Diego Padres, Kim is a career .242 hitter ⁠with 52 home ⁠runs and 217 RBIs in ​588 games. He spent his first seven ​professional seasons playing in his native South ‌Korea.

White, 31, was injured Sunday when he crashed into the right-field wall while making a spectacular catch on ⁠a drive by the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Max Muncy. He stayed in the game briefly after ⁠making ‌the catch before departing.

White is ⁠batting .237 with two home runs ​and ‌10 RBIs in 26 games ​this season. ⁠In seven major league seasons with the Texas Rangers (2020-22) and Braves, he is a career .210 hitter with 22 home runs and 77 RBIs in 302 games.
