The New York Yankees recalled prized prospect Spencer Jones on Friday and placed fellow outfielder Jasson Dominguez on the 10-day injured list with a low-grade AC sprain in his ‌left shoulder.

The moves comes one day after Dominguez slammed into the outfield wall while making a leaping catch during the first inning of New York’s 9-2 victory over the ‌Texas Rangers.

The 6-foot-7 Jones was joined by right-hander Kervin Castro in being recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday.

Jones, who turns 25 on May 14, was a first-round pick (25th overall) by the Yankees in the 2022 MLB Draft out of Vanderbilt. He is batting .258 with 11 home runs and 41 RBIs in 33 games at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He is ranked as the organization’s No. 6 prospect by MLB Pipeline.

“The last three or four weeks have been a lot of consistent ‌at-bats,” Yankees manager Aaron Boone said of Jones. “The power has been there; less swing and miss, which is some of the things we were seeing a little bit in spring training.

“After that second week in Triple-A where he struggled a little bit with swing and miss, he’s ‌cleaned that up. I think I saw he’s leading all of Minor League ‌Baseball in RBIs. He’s put himself in the mix.”

Dominguez, 23, is batting .200 (6-for-30) with a homer and four RBIs in nine games with the Yankees this season.

Castro, 27, is 1-0 with two saves and a 3.14 ERA in 11 relief appearances this season with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
