Yankees DFA veteran OF Randal Grichuk

The New York Yankees designated veteran outfielder Randal Grichuk for ​assignment on ‌Wednesday.

The 34-year-old journeyman signed as a free agent during training camp, with the ‌Yankees ​becoming his ⁠seventh MLB ⁠team.

In a corresponding move, the Yankees brought up right-hander Elmer Rodriguez ​from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Rodriguez, 22, will start ⁠and make ⁠his MLB debut ​against the Texas Rangers ​on Wednesday afternoon.

At Triple-A, ‌Rodriguez had a 1-2 record and 1.27 ERA in four ⁠starts.

In limited action this season, Grichuk batted .194 with two RBIs. ⁠He ‌is a ⁠career .250 hitter with ​212 ‌homers and 631 ​RBIs in ⁠1,376 games since making his MLB debut in 2014 with the St. Louis Cardinals.
