Argentina judge clears path for BHP copper project after suspension

BUENOS AIRES, April 28 (Reuters) – Judicial authorities in Argentina’s ​San Juan ‌province said on Tuesday they issued a ruling to ‌enable ​BHP’s ⁠Vicuna copper mining ⁠project to continue operations, after a court in a ​neighboring province ordered a ⁠suspension over ⁠environmental concerns.

Last ​week, police in ​La Rioja province blocked ‌a road leading to the mining project and ⁠a local judge issued a suspension of ⁠activity ‌at the ⁠project, which is ​being ‌developed by ​Australia’s BHP ⁠and Canada’s Lundin Mining.
