Gates Foundation to cut 20% of staff, review Epstein ties, WSJ reports

April 21 (Reuters) – The Gates Foundation is cutting up ​to 500 jobs, ‌or roughly 20% of its staff, over the next several ‌years, ​and it ⁠has opened ⁠an external review of engagement with the late financier and ​convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, ⁠the Wall ⁠Street Journal reported ​on Tuesday, citing ​a memo.

The organization started ‌by Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and his then-wife in ⁠2000 is one of the world’s biggest funders ⁠of ‌global health ⁠initiatives. Bill Gates ​is ‌the chair and ​board ⁠member of the foundation.
