Miami’s Bam Adebayo exits play-in game with injury

Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo exited Tuesday’s play-in game against the ​host Charlotte Hornets ‌early in the second quarter after taking a hard fall on his backside ‌near ​the basket.

Adebayo was ⁠able to stand ⁠up and walk slowly to the locker room for evaluation. He was ​injured on a play where LaMelo Ball ⁠dunked to ⁠put the No. ​9 seed Hornets ahead 30-26 ​with 10:58 left in ‌the quarter.

Adebayo had six points and three rebounds before exiting for the ⁠10th-seeded Heat, who are participating in the play-in tournament for ⁠the ‌fourth straight season.

The ⁠nine-year veteran averaged ​a ‌double-double during the regular ​season, ⁠putting up 20.1 points and 10.0 rebounds per contest, the latter ranking eighth in the NBA.
