Report: Dearica Hamby re-signing with Sparks

Three-time All-Star forward Dearica Hamby is finalizing a three-year, fully guaranteed contract ​to remain with ‌the Los Angeles Sparks, ESPN reported on Saturday.

Per the report, the total sum of the ‌deal ​is close to $3.5 ⁠million.

The news on ⁠Hamby comes one day after Nneka Ogwumike announced she was returning to the ​Sparks.

Hamby, 32, recorded career highs in points per ⁠game (18.4) and field ⁠goal percentage (57.2%) in ​44 games (all starts) last season. ​She also averaged 7.9 rebounds ‌and 3.3 assists.

The Sixth Player of the Year in 2019 and 2020 and ⁠a WNBA champion with Las Vegas in 2022, Hamby has averaged ⁠11.2 ‌points and 6.3 ⁠boards in 366 career ​games (188 ‌starts).

Ogwumike, a former WNBA ​MVP, ⁠spent her first 12 seasons with the Sparks before playing the last two seasons with the Seattle Storm.
