Vance to visit Hungary, meet with Orban next week ahead of election

LOS ANGELES, April 2 (Reuters) – U.S. Vice ​President JD ‌Vance will visit Hungary and hold bilateral meetings with ‌Prime ​Minister ⁠Viktor Orban from ⁠April 7-8, the White House announced Thursday.

Reuters was the ​first to report the ⁠planned trip ⁠last month.

Vance ​will visit Budapest ​and deliver remarks, the ‌White House said in a statement.

The visit comes ⁠days ahead of Hungary’s April 12 election, ⁠which ‌is set ⁠to be Orban’s ​toughest ‌since he ​seized power ⁠in 2010.
