Flyers sign D David Jiricek to 2-year, $3M extension

The Philadelphia Flyers signed defenseman ​David Jiricek ‌to a two-year, $3 million contract extension Wednesday.

Jiricek, 22, joined Philadelphia ‌in ​a ⁠March 6 trade ⁠that sent forward Bobby Brink to the Minnesota Wild. ​He has yet to ⁠play for ⁠the Flyers.

He has ​since recorded 10 ​points (two goals, eight assists) ‌in 10 games with Philadelphia’s AHL affiliate, the ⁠Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

A first-round draft pick (sixth overall) ⁠by ‌Columbus in 2022, ⁠Jiricek has ​recorded ‌13 points (two goals, ​11 ⁠assists) in 84 career games with the Blue Jackets and Wild.
