Panama Canal to grant uninterrupted ship passage in Mar-Sep planned maintenance

PANAMA CITY, March 20 (Reuters) – The Panama Canal ​Authority said on ‌Friday it will grant uninterrupted vessel passage during its ‌2026 ​planned ⁠maintenance program, which ⁠will take place between March and September, requiring ​the temporary closure of single ⁠transit ⁠lanes.

The canal’s maintenance ​programs are planned ​a year ahead of ‌time. For this one, certain lanes or ⁠lock chambers will be intervened one at ⁠a ‌time for ⁠between four hours ​and ‌nine days, ​allowing others ⁠to continue operating, it said.
