Reports: Lightning acquire Corey Perry from Kings

The Tampa Bay Lightning acquired forward Corey Perry from the Los Angeles ​Kings on Friday for ‌a second-round pick, multiple media outlets reported.

The pick will come in the 2028 NHL Draft.

Perry, 40, ‌recorded ​28 points (11 goals, ⁠17 assists) in ⁠50 games this season with the Kings. The 2011 recipient of the Hart Trophy, ​awarded to the NHL’s Most Valuable Player, is playing ⁠on a ⁠one-year, $2 million contract with ​performance bonuses.

Perry will be part of ​the Lightning for the second ‌time in his career. He spent two seasons with Tampa Bay from 2021-23.

A ⁠2007 Stanley Cup champion with Anaheim, Perry has totaled 963 points (459 goals, ⁠504 ‌assists) in 1,442 career ⁠games with the ​Ducks, ‌Dallas Stars, Montreal Canadiens, ​Lightning, Chicago ⁠Blackhawks, Edmonton Oilers and Kings.

Perry was selected by Anaheim with the 28th overall pick of the 2003 NHL Draft.
