Two years before making its NWSL debut, the Atlanta expansion club has landed a record front-of-jersey sponsorship deal with ‌the insurance company Aflac, Sportico reported Wednesday.

The reported seven-year, $28 million deal is believed to be the richest jersey contract in ‌women’s sports history.

The NWSL awarded its 17th franchise to Atlanta in November. The team is owned by Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United owner Arthur Blank and operated by AMB Sports and Entertainment. It will begin play in the 2028 season with home matches at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Aflac’s ties to Atlanta already include serving as an official ‌partner of the TGL franchise Atlanta Drive GC and as title sponsor for the Aflac Kickoff Game at Mercedes-Benz stadium in recent years.

The Portland Thorns announced a jersey deal with the Ring ‌home security business in February 2025 that was said ‌to be the largest in the NWSL at the time. Although no values were disclosed, it exceeded a deal between Bay FC and Sutter Health estimated at $2.5 million per season.
