Turkey reviews six online platforms for children’s data-processing practices

ISTANBUL, Feb 21 (Reuters) – Turkey’s data protection authority ​said late ‌on Friday that it has launched a review ‌into ​six ⁠major social ⁠media platforms to assess how they handle children’s ​personal data.

In a statement, ⁠the ⁠Personal Data Protection ​Authority said the ​move aims to ‌protect children from potential risks in digital ⁠environments and will examine data-processing practices ⁠and ‌safety measures ⁠on social ​media ‌platforms TikTok, Instagram, ​Facebook, ⁠YouTube, X and Discord.
