Hornets trade veteran G Tyus Jones to Mavericks

The Charlotte Hornets traded newly-acquired guard Tyus Jones to the ‍Dallas Mavericks on Thursday for guard Malaki Branham, ESPN reported.

The move opens a $7 million trade exception, ‌according to the ‌report.

Jones, 29, had just been traded from the Orlando Magic to the Wizards for cash ​considerations. He was scoring 3.0 points ‍with 2.4 ​assists in 48 games (eight ​starts) for the Magic ‍this season.

In 11 career seasons with five organizations, Jones has scored 7.4 points with 4.3 ‍assists in 730 games (226 starts).

Branham, 22, was traded from the ‍Washington ‍Wizards to the ​Mavericks in the ​Anthony ⁠Davis deal on ‌Wednesday. He was scoring 4.6 points in 28 games off the bench for the Wizards this season.
