Alex Honnold’s Epic Climb Playlist

By Moose Feb 3, 2026 | 3:11 PM

Alex Honnold just crushed it, free-soloing that beast of a skyscraper in Taipei—Taipei 101—live on Netflix, no ropes, no BS safety net, straight-up balls of steel. Dude powered up over 1,600 feet in like 90 minutes, hit the top and threw in that no-handed flex that had the whole world losing their minds. Absolute legend.

The real kicker though? His playlist was straight fire—mostly Tool cranking through those heavy, mind-bending riffs from Lateralus and Ænima, keeping his pace locked in and his head right while he’s pulling endless moves on glass and steel. Mixed with some Linkin Park, Chevelle, Nothing More and a few more….

What do you think of his soundtrack?  Who would you have on your skyscraper playlist?
