Jan 27 (Reuters) – Chevron said on Tuesday it has appointed former American Airlines Chairman and CEO Thomas W. Horton to the energy major’s board as an independent director.
Horton, 64, has also been appointed to the board’s audit committee, the company said.
He is currently a partner at Global Infrastructure Partners, a global infrastructure-investment firm, and is also on the boards of some major companies such as Walmart and GE Aerospace, the energy major added.
Chevron CEO Mike Wirth said in December he is in discussions with the board of directors about when he will step down from the U.S. oil producer.
