The North Carolina Courage on Saturday announced the hiring of Mak Lind as the team’s head coach.

Lind, 37, joins the ‍Courage after spending the past two seasons with Swedish side BK Hacken Women. He helped the club post a 21-1-4 record en route to capturing the 2025 Damallsvenskan title.

“Mak’s ability to combine performance, culture, and ‌player development makes him a perfect ‌fit for our club,” said Ceri Bowley, the Courage’s chief soccer officer. “We believe his leadership will help push us to the next level, and we’re thrilled to have him on board.”

Lind effectively replaces Sean Nahas, whom the Courage abruptly fired on Aug. ‍7 due to what Bowley labeled as “a multitude of factors.” The team finished in ninth place last season with ‍a 9-9-8 record.

Prior to coaching BK Hacken Women, Lind spent time earning a reputation for tactical clarity and player development in the men’s game.

“I am extremely excited and humbled by the ‍opportunity to serve as the next head coach of the North Carolina Courage. This is a club with ‍an incredible history ‍and a clear expectation to compete for trophies,” Lind said. “I’m very aligned with the system and style of play ‌already in place and look forward to continuing to evolve it alongside the players and staff. I can’t wait to get started and for my family and me to fully immerse ourselves in this community.”
