Fire acquire South African winger Puso Dithejane

Chicago Fire FC acquired South African winger Puso Dithejane and signed him through ‍2029-30, the club announced Tuesday.

Dithejane, 21, arrives from TS Galaxy FC of the South African top flight. His deal includes a ‌club option for 2030-31.

He ‌will occupy a U22 Initiative roster slot after making 63 appearances over the past two seasons at TS ​Galaxy. He has four goals and four assists ‍in 12 matches ​in 2025-26, including a ​hat trick against Chippa United.

“In welcoming ‍Puso to Chicago, we’re adding one of South Africa’s best young, attacking players to our team,” Fire head coach ‍Gregg Berhalter said. “His dynamic energy will add depth to our squad this season, ‍while ‍also setting the ​foundation for him to ​continue ⁠developing and strengthening the ‌team for many seasons to come.”

The Fire begin the 2026 MLS season on the road against the Houston Dynamo on Feb. 21.
