China to impose additional tariffs of 55% on some beef imports from 2026

BEIJING, Dec 31 (Reuters) – China ‍will impose additional tariffs of 55% ‌on beef ‌imports from some countries including Brazil and ​the U.S. ‍when ​shipment amounts ​exceed certain ‍quotas, the commerce ministry announced on ‍Wednesday.

The measures will take ‍effect on ‍January ​1, ​2026, ⁠for three ‌years.
