US to pledge $2 billion in assistance for those facing hunger, disease in 2026

GENEVA/WASHINGTON, Dec 29 (Reuters) – The United States ‍will pledge $2 billion in life-saving assistance to tens ‌of millions ‌of people facing hunger and disease in dozens of ​countries next year, ‍the State ​Department said ​in a ‍statement on Monday.

The money will be overseen by the ‍United Nations Office for the Coordination ‍of ‍Humanitarian ​Affairs, according ​to ⁠the statement.
