The Chicago Cubs are in agreement with right-handed reliever Jacob Webb on a one-year deal that includes a club option for the 2027 season, the team announced on Tuesday.
Financial terms were not disclosed, but The Athletic reported that Webb, 32, will earn $1.5 million in 2026 plus performance bonuses, and the 2026 option year is worth $2.5 million plus incentives.
Webb went 5-4 with a 3.00 ERA and one save in 55 relief appearances for the Texas Rangers in 2025, striking out 58 batters and walking 19 in 66 innings.
He is 17-14 with a 2.99 ERA and seven saves in 247 career games (no starts) for the Atlanta Braves (2019-21), Los Angeles Angels (2023), Baltimore Orioles (2023-24) and Rangers. The Braves selected him in the 18th round of the 2014 MLB Draft.
