China pledges to stabilise housing market in 2026

BEIJING, Dec 23 (Reuters) – China will focus ‍on stabilising the real estate market in 2026, the ‌government said ‌in a housing policy work conference held on Monday ​and Tuesday, according ‍to a ​readout released ​by the ‍housing ministry’s official publication.

Policymakers pledged in the conference to ‍vigorously implement urban renewal, implement city-specific ‍policies ‍to control ​new supply ​and ⁠take steps ‌to destock, the readout said.
