BEIJING, Dec 22 (Reuters) – China on Monday confirmed that Wingtech and Nexperia B.V. had held the first round of talks last week, with both sides agreeing to maintain communications, according to a statement released by China’s commerce ministry.
The ministry urged companies involved with the Nexperia issue to carry out negotiations “over ownership and resuming supply chains,” adding that China had previously exempted eligible chip exports in a show of goodwill.
The ministry also reiterated China’s demand that the Dutch government revoke its administrative order to “create positive conditions for negotiations between firms, and to restore chip supplies to Chinese and foreign automakers including those in China,” according to the statement.
