Nine injured in attack in Taipei, media reports

TAIPEI, Dec 19 (Reuters) – Nine people have been ‍injured, four of them seriously, after a person released smoke ‌bombs at ‌a Taipei subway station and then attacked bystanders, the official ​Central News Agency said.

Taiwan ‍Premier ​Cho Jung-tai confirmed ​the attack in ‍comments on his Facebook page, without providing further details.

The attacker ‍was suspected to have then killed ‍himself, ‍the Central ​News Agency ​said.

It ⁠was not immediately ‌clear what the motive was.
