AMSTERDAM (Reuters) – Dutch far-right leader Geert Wilders will meet Israeli foreign minister Gideon Saar and parliamentary speaker Amir Ohana at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport on Friday following attacks on Israeli soccer supporters in the city, Dutch news agency ANP reported.

Reuters could not immediately verify the information.

Saar and Ohana decided to fly to Amsterdam after overnight attacks on Israeli soccer supporters by what its mayor called “antisemitic hit-and-run squads”.

Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof had been attending a summit of European Union leaders in Budapest when the events happened but told reporters that he would leave the summit early on Friday afternoon to return to The Netherlands.

It was not yet clear if Saar will also meet with Schoof.
