US appeals court questions Biden administration net neutrality rules

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – A three-judge appeals court on Thursday questioned whether the U.S. Federal Communications Commission has authority to reinstate landmark net neutrality rules.

The FCC under President Joe Biden voted in April along party lines to reassume regulatory oversight of broadband internet and reinstate the rules adopted in 2015 that were rescinded under then-President Donald Trump. The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in August blocked the FCC from enforcing the rules.
