(Reuters) – Billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman is considering endorsing Donald Trump as the former U.S. president seeks to return to the White House, a source familiar with the matter said.
Ackman plans to announce which candidate he will endorse on X, the Elon Musk-controlled social media network, confirming an earlier report by the Financial Times.
Last week Blackstone CEO Stephen Schwarzman had said he will support Trump in the U.S. election. His decision was motivated by worries about Democratic President Joe Biden’s economic, immigration and foreign policies, as well as “the dramatic rise of antisemitism” in the country.
